Stock level monitoring in silos and tanks

Summary

A business out of stock is exposed to several risks that can lead to loss of profitability and turnover. In addition to these risks, we can add that of customer dissatisfaction, which may lose confidence in the provider, deciding to look elsewhere.

Controlling the level of its stocks is therefore a crucial task for any type of business, including those whose stocks are stored in silos and large capacity tanks (fuel, cement, cereals, etc.).

Challenge

How to know in real time the quantity of fuel that is in tanks of more than 60 meters without leaving your offices?

How to manage dozens of silos and tanks without high-risk inspection visits for staff?

Solution

Thanks to non-contact sensors using Time-of-Flight (ToF) LED technology, we can reach a range of up to 60 m for safe and non-intrusive stock management of even the largest silos.

The other big advantage of our sensors is that they require no wiring, which means quick installation with reduced cost and easier deployment in remote locations.

Stock level data in silos is transmitted over the air, directly from your silos, using the LoRaWAN protocol with miles of coverage area.

In addition, thanks to LoRaWAN technology, the batteries of our sensors have an autonomy of up to 10 years.

Advantages

  • Staff safety is improved as there is no longer any need to climb silos;
  • Personnel exposure to dangerous goods is minimized;
  • Improved planning and optimization of inventory replenishment;
  • Reduced operational costs by minimizing manual stock level inspections;
  • Reduced out of service time of silos due to inspection;
  • Eliminate unreliable guesswork by working from highly accurate level data.
